The product description of LEVEL-1 Protein makes it sound like it is not the fast assimilated protein that you would want right after a workout…is this true? If so, do you sell another protein that is assimilated faster?

2 min read

The answer to both of these questions is yes. Level-1 is indeed a sustained assimilation protein designed to keep blood amino levels high for a minimum of 2-3 hours. Although you will not find a higher quality sustained assimilation protein on the market, it was not developed with post workout nutrition in mind. Level-1 was formulated to be used throughout the day to keep blood aminos high and keep your body in an anabolic state for an extended period of time. On the other hand, after you workout you want the fastest assimilating product that you can get your hands on. Which is why its a good idea to use a Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Isolate that has been Low Temperature Processed. This post workout protein should always be used in conjunction with Ignition. Ignition does two things: First it spikes your insulin levels stopping the catabolic breakdown of muscle tissue and opening the receptors in the muscle cell for amino acids to be absorbed. Its impotant to not that studies have shown that a fast assimilating whey will spike your insulin enough to halt muscle protein breakdown and ensure maximal muscle protein synthesis…but thats only half the story. The second job of Ignition (and more important job), is it begins the glycogen replenishment process immediately by shuttling glycogen directly to the muscle. The reason you want to use an Hydrolyzed Isolate post workout and not a product like Level-1 is because post workout you want the amino acids to be available for assimilation while the receptors are open from the insulin spike created by a fast assimilating whey and Ignition. If you were to use Level-1 along side of Ignition the amino acids would be assimilated much too slowly for you to take full advantage of the insulin spike post workout. It’s all about timing. To answer the second part of your question, we have just finished up development of the industry’s highest quality post workout, Low Temperature Processed Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Isolate formula. It’s called Phormula-1 and will be available in retail outlets and online within the next month. Phormula-1 was specifically developed to be used in conjunction with Ignition. It comes in two amazing flavors; Watermelon (my absolute favorite) and Fruit Punch. If you like Level-1, you are gonna LOVE Phormula-1!
