Do you guys have a protein bar yet? If not, can you recommend one particular bar over another?

To answer your first question: No, and we won’t ever be producing one…ever. To answer your second question: Not if you truly want to get results.

Let me explain why these will not be part of the 1st Phorm product line: “Protein” Bars are not the end-all, be-all super-nutritious meal replacement that some clever marketers make them out to be. It is my professional opinion that protein bars are a marketing gimmick, not a nutritional supplement … and 1st Phorm is in the business of making top-quality dietary supplements, not misleading you by hocking $4 candy bars.

I love how people convince themselves that they are making the healthier choice by going into their local supplement store and spending an hour over analyzing every label on every single protein bar they carry to find the ‘best’ one. So which one is the best one, Andy? Here’s the answer, the best one is: NONE. If you want good results…NEVER use a protein bar…especially not as a staple of your nutrition program.

These bars are essentially glorified candy bars—they are not a healthy alternative and you are not doing yourself any favors by allowing an advertisement to convince you otherwise. Protein bars are baked at high temperatures during manufacturing. “So what?”…you say. High heat exposure denatures proteins, which makes it virtually impossible for your body to assimilate the amino acids into your muscle tissue. What does this mean? Basically when you see a bar that says it has 30g of protein, virtually none of it will make it where it’s supposed to…your muscles. The protein content of these bars is worthless; at best you absorb 3-4 grams of protein from a bar that boasts 30 grams on the label. In addition to that, they are pumped full of sugars (or worse yet—sugar alcohols) for taste, so they appeal to the mass-market. Don’t get me wrong—they are a “better than nothing” snack IF you are in a pinch where you aren’t going to be able to get a shake or a meal in for a few hours, but by no means whatsoever should you rely on these on a daily basis or build these into your daily meal plan.
